Govt to pay medical bills of Indian student injured in Ukraine
Singh is the resident of Delhi’s Chattarpur, regained consciousness in the hospital and began phoning his parents and then the embassy for assistance.
New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that it has decided to cover Indian student Harjot Singh's medical bills. Harjot is presently receiving treatment in a Kyiv hospital.
Recalling the incident, Harjot Singh claimed that he and his pals were refused access to a train bound for Lviv at Kyiv station. As a result, they decided to take a taxi to Lviv. However, while they were on their way to Lviv after leaving Kyiv, many individuals began firing at their cab.
According to Singh, one bullet struck his shoulder, another punctured his chest, and multiple rounds of the shooting broke his leg. Singh is one of the thousands of Indian students attempting to flee war-torn Ukraine.
The MEA said, "The Government of India will pay the costs of Harjot Singh's medical care" (in Kyiv, Ukraine). We're attempting to determine his health condition... Our embassy is attempting to obtain an update on his condition... "I'm trying to reach out, but it's difficult because it's a conflict zone."
Singh is the resident of Delhi’s Chattarpur, regained consciousness in the hospital and began phoning his parents and then the embassy for assistance.
Harjot stated that he has spoken with numerous officials, but none have attempted to assist him, even though he requires a safe passage and additional assistance to leave Kyiv due to his injured leg.
