Kate Middleton 'had to take fertility test' before marriage to Prince William, claims new royal book
A new book concerning the history of the Royal Family was released in February this year and revealed that Kate Middleton was allegedly required to take a fertility test before marrying Prince William. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall married on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London.
Since Prince William had chosen a bride outside of royalty, the new book, 'Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family', claimed that the protocol included some unusual requirements. Author Tom Quinn revealed that a test of whether Kate could bear children was apparently among the couple before they married.
The magazine also reported that Princess Diana had to go through the same medical tests before her wedding to Charles in 1981.Tom writes: "These are always carried out to ensure a future queen is able to have children. If Kate had not been fertile, there is little doubt the marriage would have been off."
