LPG cylinder price hiked by Rs 25 again!

New Delhi: In 15 days, petroleum companies have increased the price of domestic non-subsidized LPG cylinders again by Rs 25.

The price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is Rs 884.50. New rates are effective from today (September 1). The price of 19-kg commercial cylinder also increased by Rs 75, which will cost Rs 1693 in Delhi. In Mumbai, the rate of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder is now Rs 884.5 and in Chennai Rs 900.50 from today.

The price was hiked by Rs 25 on August 18, and again today by Rs 25 per cylinder. Earlier still, in July, the price of cooking gas was increased by Rs 25.50. Thus, in the last two months, the price of LPG has gone up by ₹75.

This is the third time that oil companies have hiked domestic cooking gas prices. A domestic cylinder cost Rs 809 on June 1. This was hiked to Rs 834 on July 1. Between January 1 and August 17, the price of domestic LPG cylinders has gone up by Rs 165 each. At present prices, electric cooking is cheaper than LPG.
