Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee calls out double standards of the Centre towards the state on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Sunday.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee at an event in Kolkata, called out the Centre for not working enough on Netaji's classified files.
She said, "Till today we don't know about Netaji's whereabouts. They (Centre) had said that when they come to power, they will work on it but nothing happened. In fact, we (state) have released and declassified all files on Netaji Bose."
Also, she expressed her displeasure at the rejection of the Bengal tableau by the central government.
"Why so allergic to Bengal? You rejected Bengal tableau (for Republic Day)..You are making (Netaji) statue (in Delhi) because we pressurised you."
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has written to West Bengal Chief Minister over exclusion of the state's tableaux for Republic Day celebrations. Justifying the Centre's decision, in a letter, the defence minister wrote, "West Bengal's tableau has been selected for participation in R-Day during 2016, 2017,2019, and 2021."
