MEA does large scale evacuation of Indians from Kabul

New Delhi: Remaining 146 people who are stranded at Kabul airport will be reached to Delhi today. On Sunday, India has airlifted 392 persons from Kabul, including Afghan nationals. 

Qatar Airways flight has carried 30 Indian passengers who reached Delhi from Doha in the early hours on Monday. 

Indian government continued its evacuation process of Indians stranded in Kabul after the Taliban took over the city on August 15. Another Air India flight, AI 972, also reached Delhi from Doha. 

India on Sunday evacuated 392 people, including 107 Indians, from Kabul in an IAF military aircraft. A few days back Indian government has evacuated 135 Indians from Kabul to Doha.

The Indian embassy has closely monitored the safe return of Indians from Kabul. Both Sikhs and Hindus, who were stranded in different places of Kabul has returned to Delhi on Sunday. Three aircraft have sent to Tajikistan and Qatar to bring back stranded Indians in Kabul on Sunday.

The large-scale evacuation was undertaken by a small multi-agency Indian team based in Kabul airport. The cell has taken charge days after the Government of India evacuated its India-based staff from the Embassy in Kabul. 

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has yet to comment about the large-scale evacuation process of Indian nationals from the war-torn country. However, reports say that the Indian team consists of seven officials from different sections of the government and is led by Indian diplomats in the U.S.-controlled airport.

Three persons from Karnataka who stranded at Kabul also reached Delhi on Sunday. Teacher from Kasargod, Father from Belthanagdi were stranded at Kabul city, seeking Indian government help for their return to motherland.
