Nagaland Killings: Indian Army Inquiry team to visit incident site on 29 December

Kohima: The Army Inquiry Team, formed to investigate the civilian killings in the Mon district of Nagaland, to visit the incident site on 29 December.

"In reference to the Indian Army inquiry into December 4 incident at Oting, Nagaland, the Army Inquiry Team will visit the incident site on 29 Dec. The team will also be present at Tizit Police Station, Mon District on the same day."
"Indian Army Inquiry Team solicits from the public at large any primary information (not forwarded or not from a secondary source) pertaining to the incident. Any person having such information and desirous of deposing before the Inquiry is requested to do so at Tizit PS."
Fourteen civilians were killed by the para special forces of the army at Oting village in Mon district of Nagaland near the Assam border on December 4. The incident took place at Indo- Mayanmar border district in Nagaland. Three vehicles of the security forces were torched by the villagers in retaliation. One soldier died and some others suffered severe injuries in the incident.
Following the massacre, Nagaland Cabinet decided to ask the Central government to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) not only in Nagaland but also in the northeast following public backlash over the killing of civilians.
