Opposition leaders stage walkout as Venkaiah Naidu refuses to revoke suspension of MPs
Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge questioned Rajya Sabha Chairman's decision to suspend 12 MPs over the incident that happened in the last Monsoon session.
New Delhi: Opposition leaders protested at Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament premises on Monday over suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs. Opposition MPs staged walked out from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha after Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu rejected revocation of the suspension of 12 MPs.
KC Venugopal, Congress MP, said "We have boycotted the Lok Sabha proceedings for the remaining day in protest against the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs".
"We're against the suspension of MPs. We're standing along with opposition parties but we'll take our own path", TMC MP Nadimul Haque during the protest.

Oppostion leader in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge questioned Rajya Sabha Chairman's decision to suspend 12 MPs over the incident that happened in the last Monsoon session
"We came to your office to request for revocation of the suspension of 12 MPs. The incident happened in the last Monsoon session. So, how can you take this decision now", Kharge asked Venkaiah Nadu, Chairman RS.
Venkaiah Naidu in his reply said, "The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha is empowered to take action and also the House can take action".
