Padma Awards 2020: 4 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan & 61 Padma Shri awarded today
The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, presented four Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and sixty-one Padma Shri Awards for the year 2020, on Monday at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
New Delhi: The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, presented four Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and sixty-one Padma Shri Awards for the year 2020, on Monday at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Thirty-three of the awardees are women and the list also includes 18 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and 12 Posthumous awardees.
'Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Vice President of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Home Affairs.
