PM Modi lauds AIIMS doctors for successful surgery on heart of baby inside womb
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the efforts of a team of doctors at AIIMS Delhi who performed a successful rare procedure on a grape-size heart of a foetus in 90 seconds.
PM Modi said that the country is proud of the dexterity and innovation of doctors.
"Proud of India's doctors for their dexterity and innovation," he tweeted quoting Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya's tweet.Mandaviya, who shared the story in his tweet wrote, “I congratulate the team of doctors of @AIIMS_NewDelhi for performing the successful rare procedure on grape size heart of a fetus in 90 seconds. My prayers for the well-being of the baby and the mother."
Doctors at AIIMS Delhi performed successful balloon dilation in a grape-sized baby's heart in the mother's womb. A 28-year-old pregnant patient was admitted to the hospital with three previous pregnancy losses.
