Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Vishwajit Rane give reasons on why they left Congress
Joshi who was once in the close circle of Gandhi’s told that Congress lives in a bubble and has no hard-working leadership or vision. She said that people are not accepting the leadership of either Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Bengaluru: In terms of hard work, networking and connectivity there was no match to BJP, said BJP leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Vishwajit Rane.
Both leaders, who switched from Congress to BJP, praised the work atmosphere of the party. Both leaders spoke on the Congress party’s pathetic performance in the five states assembly elections. Congress has lost one of the states it was ruling to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The former leaders of Congress said that there is a lot of difference in the working style of these two parties.
Joshi who was once in the close circle of Gandhi’s told that Congress lives in a bubble and has no hard-working leadership or vision. She said that people are not accepting the leadership of either Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
"They (Congress) believe that only the family can revive the party. They are lacking in leadership. And I've seen no strong leadership in that party. Their workers have all vanished. At the district level, there are only a few leaders. They are all seasonal politicians. When an election is approaching, they all band together", Joshi stated.
She came down heavily on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who actively campaigned in Uttar Pradesh, Joshi said
"What Priyanka Gandhi did was she started campaigning for elections three months in advance and using appealing slogans. People do not care about catchy slogans. They want substantial work and access to the leadership, which the Congress lacks and the BJP possesses", added the BJP member.
"You should look at the BJP's network. When I first joined the BJP and witnessed their networking - and the amount of hard work they put in - I realized that their workers are always on their toes, and all of their leaders, like the workers, are also on their toes. Social networking is good, but the personal connection is crucial ", she stated.
Vishwajit Rane left the Congress after the party's failure to form government in Goa in 2017, despite being the single largest party. The BJP gained the support of MGP and independents and formed the government. He said the BJP is a disciplined party. Congress has totally lost connection with the people.
The BJP is totally a disciplined party. Congress has totally lost connection with the people. Working for elections and bringing onboard candidates who are financially powerful will not assist. Continuous working, like a simple worker, and being in touch with the grassroots on a regular basis, irrespective of elections... The BJP has a unique working style, Rane said.
“We know how to work, we have discipline, we have got system and we know how to win the election. The family alone cannot win votes for the party. Working at the grassroots and getting the people together is important", he said.
