Russia bombs Babyn Yar memorial in Kyiv, local TV channels go off-air
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Russia has launched 113 cruise missiles, including Iskander, toward Ukraine.
Kyiv: Ukrainian Government claimed that Russian forces have bombed the territory of the Babyn Yar memorial complex located in the capital city Kyiv. Five people were killed during the shelling of a TV tower in Babyn Yar.
According to the Ukrainian communication department, the rocket hit the TV tower, damaging the control room. There is the possibility that local TV channels will not work for a while.
Ukraine's government compared the attack on Babyn Yar memorial with Nazi regime atrocities on the Jews.
"As a reminder, in the 1940s, the Nazi regime shot more than 100,000 Jews in Babyn Yar. Russia is killing Holocaust victims for the second time".
The government further claimed that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Russia has launched 113 cruise missiles, including Iskander, toward Ukraine. Shelling of Ukrainian cities and targeting civilians must be condemned by all members of the international community.
Kyiv TV tower, which has just been hit by a Russian missile, is situated on the territory of Babyn Yar. On September 29-30, 1941, Nazis killed over 33 thousand Jews here. 80 years later, Russian Nazis strike this same land to exterminate Ukrainians. Evil and barbaric.

Babi Yar or Babyn Yar is a ravine in Kyiv and a site of massacres carried out by Nazi Germany's forces during its campaign against the Soviet Union in World War II. The first and best-documented massacres took place on 29–30 September 1941, killing approximately 33,771 Jews. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, several memorials were erected on the site and elsewhere.
