SC declines plea seeking deferring NEET UG-2021 exam

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to entertain a petition seeking orders to relevant authorities for rescheduling or deferring the NEET UG- 2021 exam.

The petition sought conduct of the NEET UG- 2021 exam only after CBSE compartment/patrachar/private exams would be declared. The SC Bench comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice CT Ravikumar said that the Court cannot meddle with the examination.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 exam is to be conducted on September 12, 2021, in pen and paper-based mode in 13 languages. The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2021 would be conducted are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.NEET-UG is conducted for admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc and AH colleges in India.

The Result of NEET (UG) - 2021 may be utilized by other Entities of Central and State Governments, in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria / other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/ rules. The result data may also be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria / other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/ rules.

The NEET (UG) – 2021 result data could also be used for admissions to BVSc & AH courses under the 15% quota of VCI in recognized Veterinary Colleges. However, the Council has to approach the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW in order to obtain the said data of results.
