Sculptor from Mysuru chiselled Kedarnath's Adi Shankaracharya statue unveiled by PM Modi

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday unveiled the statue of Adiguru Shankaracharya in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand. Not many know that the Mysore-based sculptor and his team is behind the statue.
After the prime minister unveiled the Shankaracharya's statue Karnataka Minister Murugesh Nirani took to social media to share the information on the sculptor.
Nirani tweeted, "It's a matter of pride for all of us that the statue of Adiguru Shankaracharya unveiled by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji at Kedarnath was sculpted by Kannadiga Shri Arun Yogiraj. It was a pleasure interacting with him in Mysuru recently".

"It was a privilege for me to sculpt the statue of Adi Shankaracharya at Kedarnath. I am very happy that PM Modi dedicated the statue to the people of India. We worked for 14-15 hours everyday for nine months to execute this sculpture", Arun Yogiraj, sculptor from Karnataka's Mysuru told news agency ANI.
Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi has been reconstructed after the destruction in the 2013 floods. The entire reconstruction work has been undertaken under the guidance of the Prime Minister, who has constantly reviewed and monitored the progress of the project.
