Sengol' in new Parliament building will serve as reminder of responsibility to uphold righteous governance: Union ministers
New Delhi, May 24 (PTI) Installation of the sceptre 'Sengol' in the new Parliament building will be a historic moment for India as it will serve as a reminder of the responsibility to uphold righteous governance for the nation, Union ministers and BJP leaders said on Wednesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier in the day announced that the historical sceptre from Tamil Nadu will find a place in the new Parliament building to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28.
The sceptre was received by first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru to represent transfer of power from the British and was kept till now in a museum in Allahabad.
