Sringeri people protests arrest of ‘corrupt’ Tahasildar
People have objected to ACB for arresting Tasildar and VA. People have gathered at IB, argued with ACB officials for arresting their Tahasildar. But ACB officials convinced the people that both were taken a bribe to do official favour.
Chikmagalur: People have prevented the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths from arresting corrupt Tahasildar of Sringeri and village accountant, both were redhandedly caught while accepting a bribe.
ACB police have trapped Tahasildar R. Ambuja and Village Accountant Siddappa at Inspection Bungalow of Sringeri, while both were accepting a bribe to issue possession certificates for Ashraya house.
Both Tahasildar and VA have received bribe from Sanjay Kumar from Kavadi village. Both TasIldar and VA were under the scanner of ACB following corruption charges against them.
But people have objected to ACB for arresting Tahasildar and VA. People have gathered at IB, argued with ACB officials for arresting their Tahasildar. But ACB officials convinced the people that both were taken bribe to do official favour.
Sanjay Kumar has given Rs. 25,000 as the first installment to get possession certificate of Ashraya house. Recently, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra wrote to the Revenue Minister to take action against corrupt Tahasildar. He wrote a letter to the Revenue minister based on the letter of Sringeri MLA, T.D. Rajegowda.
