Case filed against hairstylist Jawed Habib for spitting on woman's hair

Muzaffarnagar: Jawed Habib, a leading hairstylist of India, is in trouble for allegedly spitting on a woman's hair during a hairstyle workshop. A video of Jawed Habib spitting on hair is doing rounds on social media. 

"A case has been registered against him (hairstylist Jawed Habib) under sections 355 (assault), 504 (insult) of IPC and relevant sections of Epidemic Act," Rakesh Kumar, CO, Khatauli (Muzaffarnagar), told news agency ANI.

"The matter is being investigated by the local police and necessary actions will be taken," said Arpit Vijayvargiya, SP City, Muzaffarnagar 

Also, National Commission for Women (NCW) has written to Delhi Commissioner of Police Rakesh Asthana on viral video showing hairstylist Jawed Habib allegedly spitting on a woman's hair. The NCW urged him to take action in the matter. NCW to send a notice to Jawed Habib.

According to details available on Jawed Habib's website, back in the late 1940s, his grandfather was appointed as the official barber to the President of India, and also cut the hair of Lord Mountbatten, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and other dignitaries.
