The Kashmir Files team- Vivek Agnihotri, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi meet PM Modi

On March 12, the film team including director Agnihotri, his wife, and actress Pallavi Joshi,  producer Abhishek met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister appreciated the film and congratulated them.

New Delhi: The Kashmir Files, a film directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri released on March 11 and despite limited showcasing (630 screens), the film got a good response and earned Rs 3.55 crore on the first day and it is going strong. 

On March 12, the film team including director Agnihotri, his wife, and actress Pallavi Joshi,  producer Abhishek met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister appreciated the film and congratulated them.

Producer Abhishek Agarwal shared a photo of him and the team members meeting the Prime Minister  on Twitter. And wrote “It was a pleasure to meet our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji.  What makes it more special is his appreciation and noble words about #TheKashmirFiles. We've never been prouder to produce a film. Thank you Modi Ji.”

The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar hit the silver screen on March 11. The film tells the plight of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee their homes (Kashmir Genocide). Kashmiri Pandits were tormented, forcibly removed from their homeland, and slaughtered in 1990. The film seeks to inform the public about this horrible period in history.

The film is produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Tej Narayan Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha, and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners. Udaysingh Mohite did camera work and Shankh Rajadhyaksha edited the movie. 

The film has been declared tax-free in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh
