SS Rajamouli’s RRR was released worldwide on Friday, and the film got an overwhelming response from the audience on its opening day. According to a report, RRR was released on 10,000 screens in the country.
Initial reports of the much-anticipated movie are out now and according to them, the movie did a business of Rs 15-20 crore on the first day in Hindi-speaking states, which is less than Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi, which collected Rs 26.11 crore on the first day.
Rajamouli’s magnum opus is said to have been made on a budget of Rs 336 crore. According to the initial reports, the movie did a business of Rs 60 crore in the Telugu-speaking states and became the highest-grossing film on the first day of its release after the pandemic, leaving behind Baahubali-2, which collected Rs 40 crore.
The numbers are likely to improve further during the weekend, although the overall number in terms of earnings on the first day has not yet been officially announced.
Meanwhile, IMDB, one of the well-known movie rating sites, has given a rating of 9.2 out of 10 for RRR. If you go to movies based on their rating, Rajamouli's Marvel is a must-see.
The RRR: Rise, Roar, Revolt stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, and the action-fueled period drama also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt.
The magnum opus earned less in terms of first-day collection compared to Rajamouli’s previous blockbuster Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), which earned Rs 41 crore on Day 1 in the Hindi version.
Looking at the box office data, RRR will not be able to equal the Baahubali franchise's success in any way, but it may still be a hit.
