In Uttar Pradesh, beyond the prediction of exit polls, BJP is heading for a comfortable majority. Like in Uttarakhand ruling BJP is a return to power.
As the counting is going on for the elections held for five states, the BJP is appearing to be clearing edging in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and inching towards retaining the government. Pushkar Singh Dhami, incumbent Chief Minister of Uttarakhand likely to return for a second term.
Of the total 403 assembly seats in UP, the BJP led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is already leading by over 260 plus seats, way ahead of its nearest rival, Samajwadi Party which is trailing at nearly 119 seats.
Similarly, has already crossed the mark of seats required to form the government in Uttarakhand, the hilly region. In Uttarakhand BJP is leading in 43 seats of 70 member Assembly, its nearest rival Congress is leading in 23 seats. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is likely to return to power. Hardcore RSS man will hold the hilly state. Despite not providing a stable government in five years, changing Chief Ministers often, BJP is able to win the hearts of Uttarakhand voters. It's is nothing but pro incumbency for BJP in Uttarakhand.
The party has crossed the halfway mark by leading in over 40 seats of the total 70 seats of the State.
The Congress which was considered to be giving a tough fight in the exit polls seems to be falling flat as the BJP is heading towards major victory despite the fact that the State has seen three CMs during BJP tenure.
Similarly, the UP is giving a clear mandate to BJP if going by the trends. If the trend continues, then Adityanath will be going form his government for the second successive term.
