2 RTI activists brutally attacked in Karnataka; 1 killed
Bengaluru: An RTI activist has been killed by unknown assailants in Harapanahalli town, Vijaya Nagar district.
The deceased has been identified as T. Sridhar (40). He was attacked while he was on a morning walk. According to reports, the reasons for the murder is not yet known.
A case has been filed under Harapanahalli police station limits.
In a separate incident, another RTI activist Venkatesh (50), has been brutally attacked in the Tavarakere area of Bengaluru in an unrelated incident.
Four-five unidentified assailants chopped off Venkatesh's hand and legs while he was at his farmland. Locals who heard Venkatesh's cry for help and admitted to a private hospital.
Venkatesh is know for filing RTI to get information on government projects in the area. Police suspected personal and professional animosity for the attack. The police has begun investigation into the attack.
