Alert for tipplers: No liquor on counting day in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: Given vote counting of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections on March 10, sale and operations of liquor is prohibited in the state for the entire day, on Thursday.
Excise Department stated that action will be taken in case of violation.
The assembly elections are over in five states - Uttar Pradesh ( 7 phases), Punjab (single-phase), Uttarakhand (single-phase), Goa (single-phase), and Manipur (2 phases).
Today's Chanakya in collaboration with Hindi news channel News24 has predicted victory for BJP in Uttarakhand and thumping majority for AAP in Punjab. The exit poll has predicted 100 seats for APP in Punjab and 43 Seats for BJP in Uttarakhand. All national parties could manage to get single digit in Punjab.
The counting of votes for all the states will take place on the same day, on March 10. A total of 690 assembly constituencies have voted over the next two months, with the maximum in UP (403 seats) followed by Punjab (117), Uttarakhand (70), Manipur (60), and Goa (40).
