Amarinder Singh to attend Sidhu's elevation ceremony
Chandigarh: Newly-appointed Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has written the second letter to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, requesting him 'to come andbless the new team of PCC on the occasion of our taking charge' in Chandigarh on July 23.
Fifty-six Congress MLAs have signed the letter. Sidhu has also invited AICC in-charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat, to the programme.
Upon receiving the invitation, Harish Rawat said, "Under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh, Congress will unitedly welcome the new president tomorrow. Congress MPs will be present".

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has invited all Congress MLAs, MPs, and senior party functionaries from the state for tea at 10 am tomorrow.
They will all then go to Punjab Congress Bhawan to install the new PPCC team, said Media Advisor to Punjab CM, reported news agency ANI.
The chief minister, had opposed Sidhu’s appointment, has demanded a public apology from him for his derogatory remarks.
Sidhu, was named the PPCC president on Sunday after a three-month-long internal wrangling in the state Congress. Also, Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny and Pawan Goel were appointed PCC working presidents.
