One of the most expected films in Sandalwood, Bhajarangi 2, starring Shivarajkumar and directed by A Harsha, is releasing on October 29. The new date was officially announced today by producer Jayanna. 

"It will be a Rajyotsava (November 1) and Deepavali (November 4) gift for fans of Shivanna and Kannadigas," Jayanna said, making it clear that he is targeting the Deepavali holidays to garner a good chunk of the box office. He had earlier planned to release the film on Ganesha Chaturti but the State Government did not relax the theatre rules that stipulated only 50 percent seating. 

In an official order on Friday, Karnataka allowed 100 percent seating in theatres starting October 3. Jayanna immediately latched on to the October 29 date, preemptively booking it before Sudeep's Kotigobba 3 or Duniya Vijay's Salaga could opt for the date. 

Bhajarangi 2 is a sequel to the adventure fantasy film Harsha directed for Shivanna eight years ago. The film turned out to be a box office hit and gained cult status with fans. Harsha went on to direct films named after Lord Hanuman including, Vajrakaya, Jai Maruti 800 and Anjani Putra. 

It is speculated that Bhajarangi 2 is the same film that Harsha had written for Yash as Raana. But Yash did not like the script and backed out of it. The same was renamed as Bhajarangi 2 with Shivarajkumar in the lead.
