It was a clash waiting to happen. As reported by 24x7LiveIndia, the preemptive announcement of producer Jayanna releasing his Bhajarangi 2 on October 29 has left two other big-budget films to clash at the box office by releasing on the same day. 

Sudeep starrer Kotigobba 3 and Duniya Vijay starrer Salaga have announced October 14 as their release date. It is the Dasara festival week and they look to encash on the holidays. Bhajarangi 2 has occupied the Deepavali festival holidays three weeks later. 

This is not the first time that two big films have clashed at the box office. But the timing and the circumstances in which these two films are releasing has revealed how the camaraderie and unity put up by the Kannada film producers was a sham.

Along with Jayanna, Salaga producer KP Sreekanth, Kotigobba 3 producer Soorappa Babu, KGF2 and Yuvarathna producer Vijay Kiragundur and Roberrt producers Media House had decided to avoid box office clash of their big-budget films. There were multiple meetings of these producers through the last two years during the pandemic. They met State Government ministers and the Chief Minister together. 

The producers repeatedly said they would allow two-three weeks between each of their big-budget films so that all of them have a good run at the box office. However, when it came to announcing the release date, it became each man for himself. When Jayanna announced the release date of Bhajarangi 2 on Sunday morning, the other two were left with no option but to hurriedly announce their release dates too. Salaga's release date was announced two hours later. By 6 PM, the release date of Kotigobba 3 was also announced
