BJP appoints in charges for Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, & Punjab ahead of assembly polls

New Delhi: BJP has announced charges for Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Punjab ahead of the assembly elections in 2022.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi has been appointed in charge of Uttarakhand for the upcoming Assembly election 2022. BJP MP Locket Chatterjee is co-in charge of Uttarakhand.

Maharashtra Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis is in charge of Goa. Bhupender Yadav, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to lead the party in Manipur and Punjab respectively.

Uttarakhand has seen three chief ministers since came to power in 2017. Two term MLA from Khatima in Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami was sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of the State along with an 11-member cabinet. Trivendra Singh Rawat was removed as chief minister. Rawat’s successor, Lok Sabha MP Tirath Singh Rawat, too, couldn’t cement his position in the government, and was replaced by Pushkar Singh Dhami.

In Goa, Pramod Sawant (45), former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and BJP MLA from Sankhelim in north Goa, became the 11th Chief Minister of Goa, succeeding Manohar Parrikar, who died after a prolonged battle with advanced pancreatic cancer.

In Punjab, the BJP is trying to emerge as a strong force amid strong protest against the three controversial farm laws. The state is set for a multi-cornered contest among the ruling Congress, the AAP, the Shiromani Akali Dal-BSP alliance, and the BJP.
