Chennai: A bride in Tamil Nadu called off her wedding after the groom allegedly hit her the day before the wedding, later she married her cousin at the same venue and time.
The bride, a postgraduate from Panruti town and groom, a senior engineer based in Chennai, decided to get married on January 20. The problem arise when both were gathered in the family function that involved a DJ and a dance floor.
The bride and groom were reportedly dancing together when the bride’s cousin joined them on the dance floor. The bride cousin placed his hands on the bride and groom’s shoulder, which irritates the groom and pushed both of them away. The bride family blamed the groom has slapped her.

The bride’s relatives decided to get her married on the same day and same venue. They arrange marriage to her cousin, who belongs to Gingee town of Viluppuram district. Meanwhile groom and his family members seeking compensation from the bride’s side, alleging that they have spent Rs. 7 lakh for wedding preparations and functions.
