Subramanian holds an MBA and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in financial economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His PhD was completed under the supervision of former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan. He is also an alumnus of the IIT, Kanpur where he studied electrical engineering, as well as the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta.
K V Subramanian decided to return back to academia following the completion of my 3-year fulfilling tenure. He said serving the Nation has been an absolute privilege and he had wonderful support and encouragement. He tweeted his statement.
