Not good for India to have military presence in Afghanistan: Taliban

Kabul: As India is closely watching the developments in Afghanistan, the Taliban has warned India to be wary of military presence given the outcomes of military expeditions of foreign countries in the war-torn country.

In an exclusive interview with news agency ANI, Taliban Spokesperson Muhammed Suhail Shaheen has appreciated India's contribution to Afghanistan's infrastructure projects.

Muhammed Suhail Shaheen said, " If they (India) come to Afghanistan militarily and have their presence, I think that will not be good for them. They've seen the fate of military presence in Afghanistan of other countries, so it is an open book for them".

Taliban spokesperson said, "They (India) have been helping the Afghan people or national projects. They did it in the past. I think that is something which is appreciated".

On removing Nishan Sahib from a Gurudwara in Afghanistan's Paktia, he said, " That flag was removed by Sikh community themselves. When our security officials went there, they said that if the flag is seen, someone will harass them. Our people assured them, and they hoisted it again".

Taliban spokesperson denied allegations of having deep linkages with Pak-based terror groups.

" These are baseless allegations. They're not based on ground realities but on basis of their certain policies towards us, on the basis of politically motivated goals", said Suhail Shaheen.
