Congress committed Covid 'Paap': PM Modi attacks opposition
“You can oppose me, but why are you (Congress) opposing the Fit India Movement and other schemes? No wonder you were voted out in many states years ago...I think you have made up your mind not to come to power for the next 100 years”, Prime Minister criticized
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made all-out attack against the opposition in the Parliament today, accusing them of being responsible for the countrywide spread of the Covid first wave and get trigger the migrant crisis.
Prime Minister further said that this was paap (sin) committed by the opposition to countrymen. The Opposition did not do anything positive, advising the people to take Covid precautions, opposition has given immense contribution to spreading Covid cases throughout the Country by raising migrant workers' issues.
Prime Minister was speaking motion of thanks debate in the Lok Sabha, accusing of Congress-ruled state in Maharashtra and AAP ruled state in Delhi of pushed migrant labourers into difficulties.
"The Congress crossed the limit," he said. "During the first wave, when we had lockdown when WHO was advising that 'stay wherever you are'... the Congress at the Mumbai railway station gave tickets to labourers to go and spread coronavirus," he alleged,
"In Delhi, the government used mics on jeeps in slums to go home, arranged buses," the Prime Minister said, adding that in Uttar Pradesh and other states "where corona didn't have this intensity, there also coronavirus spread due to this", he criticized Kejriwal government for responsible in spreading Coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh, Hariyana and Madhya Pradesh. He said that the migrant crisis was one of the key issues during the outbreak of the pandemic in the Country.
However, the opposition has blamed the Modi government for the imposition of lockdown without any advance preparation and advice was the main reason that led to the migrants' suffers. Visuals of labourers walking by bare foot for thousands of miles left the country shaken.
"During Covid, the Indian economy was the fastest growing in the world, farmers produced record quantity foodgrains… Lot of countries faced food shortages. But this country didn't let anyone die of hunger. India gave free ration to over 80 crore people and still giving," he said.
"Such a big problem came, how many elected leaders requested people to wear masks, wash hands, practice social distancing. If they told the public so, what would have BJP government or Modi benefited?" he said, adding that for this behavior of the Congress, "Not just me, the entire country is fed up".
“Nagaland voted for Congress 24 yrs ago, Odisha voted for you 27 yrs ago. You won with a full majority in Goa 28 yrs ago. In 1988, Tripura voted for Congress. West Benga voted for Congress in 1972. You take credit for the creation of Telangana but the public did not accept you”, Mr. Modi chided Congress.

Today poor people of the country are getting a gas and connection, house & toilets. They have their own bank account. But unfortunately, some people's (opposition) minds are still stuck in 2014, Mr. Modi said in Lok Sabha
“After losing so many elections there is no change in your (Congress) 'Ahankaar' (ego). If I talk about 'vocal for local' then you ignore it. Don't you want to create India 'Atamanirbhar'? You (Congress) don't want to fulfil the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi”, he said.
“We need to strengthen our small farmers. Our focus is on them. But those who don't know the pain of small farmers don't have any right to do politics in the name of the farmers”, Mr. Modi said in Lok Sabha
