Congress leaders have 'sycophancy' towards Gandhi family: BJP MP Sushil Modi
In a series of tweets, Modi took on Congress leadership after the party’s dismal performance in the recently held assembly polls in five states.
BJP MP and Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Modi has taken a jibe at the Congress leaders, stating that the leaders lack guts to free the Congress from Gandhi family.
In a series of tweets, Modi took on Congress leadership after the party’s dismal performance in the recently held assembly polls in five states.
He said that it is shameful on part of the Congress that even after experiencing humiliating defeat in five states, the party does not want to keep Gandhi family away from the Congress.
He predicted that Congress will be thrown out of power even from Rajasthan and Chattishghar, the only two states where Congress is ruling.
While Modi accused the Congress leaders of not freeing the party from Gandhi family, it was reported that after the defeat in five states, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, son Rahul Gandhi, and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had proposed to resign from their respective posts. However, their proposal was rejected unanimously during the Congress Working Committee meeting on Sunday. Modi also targeted Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra with his tweets.
"Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said she was the face of Congress in UP and tried to mislead women with her 'I am a woman, I can fight' slogan but the people gave her just 2 seats. Despite this, no Congress leader asked for her resignation from the post of General Secretary," he said in Hindi on Twitter.
Taking a dig at Sonia and Rahul who he described as "de-facto supremo" of the party, he said that Congress has even lost the will to save the party and protect its internal democracy.
The CWC called the recent assembly election results of five states a "cause of serious concern" for the party.
Meanwhile, the Gandhi family is facing criticism after the party's debacle in the recent elections.
