Washington: In a shocking revelation by an American magazine, the Taliban executed Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui after verifying his identity. Several media reports stated Danish Siddiqui's death was collateral damage in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
The American Magazine 'Washington Examiner' claimed that 'the Taliban executed Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui after verifying his identity.'
'The circumstances of Siddiqui's death are now clear. He was not simply killed in a crossfire, nor was he simply collateral damage; rather, he was brutally murdered by the Taliban.'

According to the report, Siddiqui travelled with an Afghan National Army team to the Spin Boldak region to cover fighting between Afghan forces and the Taliban to control the lucrative border crossing with Pakistan. Taliban attack split the group. So Siddiqui and his team went to a local mosque where he received first aid.
When the word spread that a journalist was in the mosque, the Taliban attacked. According to the report, the local investigation suggested the Taliban attacked the mosque only because of Siddiqui's presence.
