ED recovers over Rs 10 cr from Charanjit Singh Channi's relative

Mohali: Ahead of Punjab Assembly Elections, Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered Rs 3.9 crores more from the residential premises of Bhupinder Singh Honey, nephew of CM Charanjit Singh Channi, on Wednesday.
Around Rs 10.7 crores recovered so far from raids, an ED official told ANI.
ED was searching premises linked to Charanjit Singh Channi's nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey, officials told news agency ANI. The raids were underway at least ten other places across poll-bound Punjab.
Punjab CM Charanjit S Channi said, "ED, income tax & other agencies are being used by Central govt...Be it West Bengal or Punjab, revolution started in these states. Delhi is trying to suppress (us) but Punjab will hit back."

"They're targetting me and trying to put pressure on me in view of upcoming Assembly polls. This is not good for democracy. We're ready to fight this. The same thing happened during West Bengal elections."

The 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Punjab on 20 February 2022 to elect the 117 members of the 16th Assembly of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted, and the results will be declared on 10 March 2022.
