India attain Atmanirbhar in vaccination mission : Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked India’s ‘most successful vaccinating program”, he said that technology formed the backbone of the vaccination campaign.

In an interview with Open Magazine, Prime Minister said that Country is being atmanirbhar by vaccinating more than 69 % of its population with one dose and nearly 25 percent of the population with two doses.

If India did not come with the vaccine, imagine what could be the situation, even the large population of the world doesn’t have access to the Covid vaccine. Thanks to India become Atmanirbhar, Prime Minister said.

Further Prime Minister said that the eligible population will get the vaccination by December end. However people have made the allegation without any study, he said and added that he will respect criticism.

"We need to look at the entire logistics, planning and progress to understand the success of the vaccine drive. It is a huge effort with so many people mobilised across the country. I hope the media will take time out to highlight the efforts of our people in making the world's largest vaccination drive a stunning success," Mr. Modi said in an interview.

"We started planning for the vaccination drive right in May 2020 when no vaccine was even close to approval anywhere in the world. We had decided as early as then that we did not want this vaccination drive to run in the old way where it could take decades to vaccinate people. We wanted this to run in a fast, efficient, discretion-free and timebound manner," Prime Minister said.
