Indian Air Force evacuates 208 Indians from Ukraine, landed in Hindon airbase

India has escalated its evacuations of Indian nationals and students stranded in Ukraine and Kharkiv. After Russian alerts of more strikes on Kharkiv, India has issued emergency advisory to its students stranded at Kharkiv to leave the city immediately.

Indian Air Force evacuates 208 Indians from Ukraine, landed in Hindon airbase

New Delhi: India has continued its evacuation process from war-hit Ukraine, Indian Air Force’s C-17 aircraft carrying 208 Indian nationals from Ukraine.

Including students, Indian nationals have arrived in New Delhi today morning at Hindan airbase near Delhi from Rzeszow in Poland.

Ministry of Defence Ajay Bhatt interacted with the Indian nationals, after their arrival at the Hindan airbase.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's request, the Indian Air Force has initiated the evacuation process Indian nationals who were stranded at war-torn Ukraine. From Kyiv, students and citizens have reached Poland, where the Indian Air Force’s C-17 has carried them to New Delhi.

Two more Indian Air Force flights will be carrying stranded Indians from Ukraine. India has issued an emergency advisory on Wednesday asking Indian students in Kharkiv to leave the city by 6 PM of Ukraine time on Wednesday evening. Many students have left the Kharkiv to nearby cities, from where they will proceed to Ukraine- Poland, and the Romanian border.

“I have brought my friend's dog with me from Ukraine. Many people who had dogs left them behind in Ukraine, but I brought back this dog along with me”, Zahid, a student rescued from Ukraine, at Hindan airbase.

“This cat has been with me for the past 4 months. It stayed with me in the bunker, and then we crossed into Poland together”, Gautam told ANI news agency, who rescued from Kyiv.
