Karnataka Budget 2022: Burns treatment centre in Kalaburgi, textile park in Bellary
For the Kalaburgi people, the announcement of establishing a 500 MW capacity Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) solar power park with an expenditure of Rs.350 crore in Firozabad is the new one.
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai presented his maiden budget on Friday, and for the Kalyana Karnataka region, many old projects that were announced by the government have appeared in this budget copy too.
For instance, a burns unit at Kalaburgi Institute of Medical Science was announced by the former chief minister BS Yediyurappa in the 2021 budget, and Bommai announced the commencement of the project, adding the start of a plastic surgery unit in that institute. The Yediyurappa government had not allocated funds for this project.

One of the big announcements for Kalyan Karnataka is that the CM announced a grant of Rs 1,478 crore for the development of a bulk drug park in Kadechuru in the Yadgir district. The Kadechur Pharma Park, which was announced by the previous government, is in the stage of development and the announcement of the grant may expedite the setting up of one of the biggest pharma parks in the state.
Koppal, one of the backward districts of the Kalyan Karnataka region, got a mention in the budget. The CM announced the development of a Horticultural Technological Park in Sirivara village of Koppal District. and the construction of a balancing reservoir near Navali to store Tungabhadra water. In May last year, the state government revived and cleared the decade-old plan to construct the Navali balancing reservoir with a storage capacity of 40 TMC along the Tungabhadra river.
CM announced the establishment of regional centres of Forensic Science Laboratories in Hubballi and Ballari. In Hubballi, the FSL lab is almost ready and waiting for the inauguration. He announced a state-of-the-art dry chilli market in the Aladahalli village of Ballari, as Ballari is known as one of the biggest growers of chilli.
Ballari city which is famous for its jeans and to promote this clothing, the CM has announced a textile park. The city is said to have around 260 denim garments and around 3,000 families are said to be working in these units. This announcement may help boost denim garment units in the city.
The CM announced the commencement of emergency treatment units in Ballari, and Hubballi Institutes of Medical Science at a total cost of five crore rupees.
For Hubballi Dharwad, old projects appear in the budget.
The previous governments had promised in the last few budgets that the Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience would be developed on par with Bengaluru’s National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, but the promise remained unfulfilled as the government did not make enough efforts to develop this famous mental health science institute, which caters to patients from nine surrounding districts.
The Siddaramaiah government had promised in the budget that KIMS, Hubballi would have a cardiology wing in association with the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, but five years later, the Jayadeva Institute has yet to take over the cardiology wing of the KIMS.
