Karnataka Govt restricts new year celebrations in public; bars, restaurants allowed 50 per cent occupancy
After the meeting, CM Bommai said the government has decided to prohibit public celebrations from December 30 to January 2.
Belagavi: Karnataka Government has restricted new year celebrations in public in the wake of rising cases of Omicron in the state.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai chaired a high-level meeting on the containment of COVID-19 attended by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha in Belagavi.
After the meeting, CM Bommai said the government has decided to prohibit public celebrations from December 30 to January 2.
However, bars, restaurants are allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. Also, two doses of vaccines are mandatory for the employees.
The chief minister stated that the public celebration is prohibited on new year eve on MG Road, Brigade roads and across Karnataka.
