Bengaluru: The release of KGF Chapter 2, arguably the biggest film coming out of Sandalwood, has been pushed to April 14, 2022. This was announced by the film's lead actor Yash a little while ago. While the speculation about various film releases has been going on for sometime, the announcement of a date eight months later has surprised many.

Quite a few big-budget films from across various languages were trying to get good dates for release. The uncertainty of how fans would react to theatres after so long and the continued fear of the Corona pandemic worried everyone. The failure of Akshay Kumar's Bell Bottom seems to have jolted the rest of the industries as well.

KGF Chapter 1 was released in theatres in December 2018. The continuation Chapter 2, releasing more than three years later, will be unprecedented. "The uncertainties of today will only delay our resolve, but the eventuality is as promised. We will be out in theaters on April 14 2022," Yash has announced.

The theatrical release of KGF Chapter 2 was originally announced for October 23 2020. The first wave of Corona prevented the release. Then July 16 2021, was announced as the release date. The second wave prevented the release on this date. While quite a few films were eyeing the Sankranti release in January 2022, KGF going to April has surprised quite a few.
