PM Modi to meet Indian Olympics contingent on August 15
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will invite the entire Indian Olympics contingent to the Red Fort as special guests on the upcoming Independence Day, August 15.
The Prime Minister will also personally meet and interact with all of them around that time. India has sent a large contingent for the last three editions of the Summer Olympics.
A 228-member strong delegation from India is participating in 18 sporting events at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. India's Olympic contingent for Tokyo 2020 includes 127 participants from 18 sports, including two alternate players and one reserve goalie in men's and women's hockey squads, respectively.

The opening ceremony was scheduled for Friday evening, July 23, Tokyo time.
The Tokyo Olympics will continue until early August. The Games take place over 16 days after the opening ceremony. Some events, particularly team events, stretch over almost the entire Games.
