Puneeth Rajkumar's mortal remains were taken on a public procession from the Kanteerava Stadium to the Kanteerava Studios between 6.00 am and 6.30 am.
On Saturday, Puneeth Rajkumar’s daughter, Vanditha Rajkumar, returned home from the USA on Saturday evening to bid final goodbye to his father. Vinay Rajkumar, the elder son of legendary actor Raghavendra Rajkumar and brother of Puneeth Rajkumar performed the last rites in the presence of friends and family.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai handed over the tricolour to Puneeth's wife Ashwini' in presence of daughters Drithi and Vandita.

According to reports, as many as 10 lakh people paid their last homage to young superstar. Family members performed worship of Puneeth’s mortal remains, which was placed in the decorated palanquin before the burial.
Opposition leaders DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah and all cabinet ministers, top stars and artists of the Kannada film fraternity attended the burial function of late Puneeth Rajkumar.
Puneeth, youngest of the five children of matinee idol Dr.Rajkumar, starred in over 29 Kannada films. He had appeared as a lead actor in a number of commercially successful films including Appu (2002), Abhi (2003), Veera Kannadiga (2004), Mourya (2004), Aakash (2005), Ajay (2006), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Vamshi (2008), Raam (2009), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Raajakumara (2017), and Anjani Putra (2017).
