Six killed, 15 injured in fire accident at Mumbai Apartment
Five people have died in the hospital. One victim had more than 90 percent burn injuries died in Kasturba Hospital and another died at Bhatia hospital.
Mumbai: Six people were killed in a major fire mishap inside a 20 storeyed residential building in Mumbai on Saturday morning.
Police have said that 15 people were injured in the massive fire incident, which occurred 18th floor of the Kamala building opposite Gandhi Hospital at Gowalia Tank in the Mumbai Tardeo area.
Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar informed that six aged people needed oxygen support and they have been shifted to the hospital. Now the fire is under control, but the fire extinguisher tried to douse the flame, but it took time to douse the flame due to heavy smoke. All people have been rescued, the Mayor said.
BJP leader Priti Nandi has shared video footage on Twitter, she blamed the authorities concerned for the incident. “ As usual excuses will be made, sketchy reasons given and life will go on. The strongest political will is required if the city has to survive. As a Mumbaikar, the unaccountability pains”, she tweeted.

Video footage of the scene showed a massive plume of smoke and flame is coming out from the building.
On being alerted, the fire brigade personnel and police had rushed to the spot. A civic body official said 13 fire engines and seven water jetties, among others, were involved in the firefighting operation, adding that it was tagged as a level-3 (major) fire.
