Sonia Gandhi chairs meeting with key opposition leaders

New Delhi: Interim President of Congress Sonia Gandhi chairs virtual meeting with key opposition leaders to mobilize the support to confront Narendra Modi led BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, NCP leader Sharad Pawar and Shivsena leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin are prominent opposition leaders were attended virtual meeting. 

In the just-concluded monsoon session, over 15 opposition parties put up a united front in parliament, opposition parties have cornered the NDA government over Pegasus snooping spyware scandal, rising fuel prices and farmers’ agitation over agricultural laws. 

Over 19 parties leaders have attended the meeting. The absentees are Mayavathi headed BSY and Mulayam Singh Yadav headed the Samajavadi party. After the meeting statement will be issued to take forward the united fight against the ruling BJP at centre.
