Training for doctors to prepare for Covid-19 3rd wave: Dr. Sudhakar
Bengaluru: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Sudhakar Friday announced that all medical and paramedical staff would be trained in all districts ahead of possible Covid-19 third wave.
Dr Sudhakar was speaking at the inauguration of a training program organized by the State Health Department for doctors in the Bengaluru Urban District.
The Minister said, "The [Covid-19 ] vaccine is being given to the persons aged above 18 years. Experts are of the opinion that the infection can also be spread to those under 18 years. The same treatment given to adults cannot be provided to children. They have to consult pediatrician only. Therefore, children specialist doctors are being trained to handle this. Doctors in all districts will be imparted training on this."

The training by given specialist doctors will be video recorded, he added.
Necessary measures have been taken as per the recommendations of the committee headed by Dr. Devi Shetty regarding the third wave. Covid-19 virus is transforming itself and even developed nations are struggling to deal with it.
The minister cautioned the doctors need to be very careful as Karnataka shared borders with Kerala and Maharashtra. "We need to observe all safety measures as infection is still there. Bengaluru is leading in vaccination and I congratulate all healthcare warriors for this," said the Minister.
