New Delhi: As Kapil Sibal expressed his anguish through a press meet, another veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has written a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, asking her to convene an urgent meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC), according to news agency ANI.
Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal had said that one of his senior colleagues has perhaps written or is about to write to Congress president to immediately convene a CWC so that a dialogue can take place as to why we are in this state.
"I believe that one of my senior colleagues has perhaps written or is about to write to Congress president to immediately convene a CWC so that a dialogue can take place as to why we are in this state," Sibal said.
Sibal expressed anguish over the state of the Congress party following the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu after he resigned as PPCC chief on Tuesday. Sibal said he represented the view of 23 Congress leaders who had written a letter to high command over the party leadership.
This is the second letter to Sonia Gandhi by Azad and his 22 colleagues. In the letter written last year, they demanded internal elections and organisational overhaul as they wanted a full-time president and elected bodies at each level for their organisation to rise from the ashes after back-to-back defeats in the national polls.
