War of words between HDK and Sumalatha over seepage in KRS dam
Bengaluru: Former chief minister and senior Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy and Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh were engaged in a war of words on Monday.
Talking to the media, Kumaraswamy launched a scathing attack on Sumalatha on her statement on seepage in the KRS dam of Mandya district.
In an unusual response, Kumaraswamy said Sumalatha should be put to seal the seepage in the dam.
Sumalatha hit back at personal attack by Kumaraswamy saying, the language doesn't augur well with the seasoned politician. She said she was not bothered by a personal attack.
Sumalatha an independent candidate from Mandya Lok Sabha parliamentary seat had defeated Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil Kumaraswamy in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The defeat was considered a huge political setback to Kumaraswamy and his family. Vokkaliga dominant Mandya district is a stronghold of the Gowda family.
