Ajith-starrer Valimai to release on Pongal 2022
Tamil star Ajith Kumar's new movie Valimai is officially slated to release for Pongal 2022 that corresponds to January 14. Pongal is one of the biggest festivals in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana, it is the equivalent of the Sankranti festival.
Valimai will however not have an easy go at the box office as four other big films are also eyeing the same release date. These include another Tamil star Vijay's Beast, Telugu stars Mahesh Babu's Sarkaruvaari Patta, Pawan Kalyan and Rana Dagubatti-starrer Bheemla Nayak and Prabhas' Radhe Shyam.
Among these Vijay's Beast is likely to opt for a Summer release. Valimai's release announcement comes directly from the film's producer Boney Kapoor.
Fans were expecting Valimai for Deepavali itself. But it won't be the case and the Tamil Nadu box office may have a free run for Rajinikanth's Annaatthe. H Vinoth is the director of the film. Valimai has been in the making for over two years and like the rest of the films delayed by the Covid pandemic.
