Mike Tyson in special role, not cameo in Liger
Though his first film in India, movies aren't new for Tyson. He has acted in Chinese films Ip Man 3 and Girls 2 and appeared in cameos too.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson's first film in India will see him in a substantial role and not just a cameo. It was announced that he will be seen in Puri Jagan's directorial Liger starring Vijay Devarakonda.
It was Devarakonda who announced Mike Tyson joining the cast with his post which said, "We promised you Madness! We are just getting started. For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle - #LIGER. The Baddest Man on the Planet. The God of Boxing. The Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON. Namaste TYSON."
However, the announcement did not come entirely as a surprise for fans. There has been speculation about Tyson acting in the film has been doing the rounds for a couple of months already. Though his first film in India, movies aren't new for Tyson. He has acted in Chinese films Ip Man 3 and Girls 2 and appeared in cameos too.
As for Liger, the film is billed as one more pan-India film emerging from Tollywood. Apart from Telugu, the film is being made in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is backed by Karan Johar, and the cast includes Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan and Makarand Deshpande.
