Mysuru gangrape case: Police arrests 6th accused in Tamil Nadu
Bengaluru: After arresting five accused in the Mysuru gangrape case, Police arrested the absconding sixth accused in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
In connection with the case, Poice Special Team took into custody five people, including a juvenile hailing from Tamil Nadu. Police said one accused was absconding.
They were arrested within five days of the crime being committed, and a dragnet had been laid to nab the absconder. There were speculations that the five were picked up from their hideouts in Satyamangala and nearby places.
A post graduate student was molested and sexually assaulted. Her male friend was assaulted near Chamundi foothills on the outskirts of Mysuru on Tuesday.
The public outcry put the BJP government into an embarrassing position regarding the poor law and order situation. Both Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and DG & IGP Praveen Sood had rushed to Mysuru to monitor the case. DGP Sood camped in Mysuru to personally monitor the investigation.
