Ukraine's foreign minister pleads with India to tell Russia to stop the war

Kyiv: Ukraine's foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pursuade President of Russia Vladimir Putin to stop the undergoing invasion of his country.
He stated that India and Russia have special ties. Kuleba remark implied that particular ties between India and Russia and India’s link with other countries are good and all those countries can make an appeal to the Kremlin. According to Kuleba, Prime Minister Modi should persuade President Putin that war is not in any country's best interests.

He also sought new sanctions on Russia and urged several other countries, including India, to put an end to the conflict in Ukraine. He claimed that Russia had violated the ceasefire and was therefore refusing to allow civilians and foreign nationals to exit the conflict zone. He went on to say that his country has organised trains from Kharkiv and Sumy to evacuate foreign students studying in his country.
He also encouraged Indians to exert pressure on the Russian embassy to end the war in their country. "We are fighting for our home, and Putin refuses to acknowledge our right to exist." "We are fighting because we were attacked and to safeguard our land," Kuleba explained.
Meanwhile, Indian officials have stated that they will go to any length to securely remove Indian nationals from Ukraine's Sumy city, which was the hardest hit by the shelling and air strike.
