Australian Open 2022: Rafael Nadal vs Daniil Medvedev in finals
If Nadal wins the final on Sunday, he would become the first men's player to win 21 Grand Slam titles.
Melbourne: World ranking player Rafael Nadal stormed into his sixth Australian Open final on Friday. The Spaniard defeated seventh seed Matteo Berrettini of Italy 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi-final at Rod Laver Arena.
Matteo Berrettini and Nadal have clashed before. In the 2019 US Open semi-final match, Nadal defeated the Italian in straight sets.
Nadal stands a win away from a 21st Grand Slam trophy.
“For me it’s all about the Australian Open more than anything else,” Nadal told Jim Courier after the match.
Nadal will face Daniil Medvedev in Sunday's final. Top seed Daniil Medvedev defeats Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to reach the men's final.

On Thursday, World No. 1 Ash Barty and the US's Danielle Collins booked their places in the women's final, while Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis confirmed an all-Australian men's doubles final against compatriots Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden.
