Tokyo Olympics: Wrestler Ravi Dahiya in finals
Tokyo: In an exciting bout, Ravi Dahiya defeated Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev in the semi-finals match in the Men's 57kg Freestyle category at the Tokyo Olympics.
Kazakhstan's Sanayev was in the red corner and Ravi Dahiya was in the blue corner for this semi-final bout.
Ravi Kumar Dahiya found himself trailing 9-2 at one point in the match. Under immense pressure, but he managed to turn the momentum and won the bout with just over 30 seconds remaining.
Ravi Dahiya will play Iran's Zavur Uguev in the Men's 57kg freestyle final. The winner will take the gold.
Ravi will be the fourth Indian to win an Olympic medal in wrestling after KD Jadhav (bronze in 1952), Sushil Kumar (bronze in 2008 and silver in 2012) and Yogeshwar Dutt (bronze in 2008).
Ravi is a two-time Asian Championships gold medallist and a bronze medal winner at the World Championships in 2019.
